Average ticket
The average amount spent per customer in each purchase or contract.
What it is
Average ticket shows the typical size of a sale. It's useful for understanding whether growth is coming from more customers, from customers spending more, or from both.
Average ticket = Total revenue / Number of sales
Where else it shows up
💰 Finance
A direct component of MRR calculation and revenue projections.
Example: A 10% increase in average ticket, even with no new customers, already raises projected MRR.
📣 Marketing
Used to decide whether it's worth investing more in winning new customers or in selling more to existing ones.
Example: An upsell campaign aims to raise the average ticket of current customers instead of acquiring new ones.
